As part of Earthbound Expeditions’ holy pilgrimage tours, the Holy Mt. Kailash and Mansarovar Yatra has begun for this year. A group of devoted pilgrims from the UK has flown to Lhasa, Tibet today to head to the Holy Mt. Kailash and Mansarovar.  The team is led by Mr. Badri Gajurel (the UK director for Earthbound Expeditions) himself.

The team was shown around Kathmandu valley UNESO sites starting with the darshan and puja of Holy Pashupatinath before they left for Tibet. Pashupatinath believed to be the winter resident of lord Shiva where Mt. Kailash is known as summer resident for lord Shiva.
The darshan of Budhanilakantha famously known as sleeping Vishnu was another attraction for the day. Spiritual journey to Boudhanath and Swoyambhunath added flavor to the charm of the day tour.

After the day tour finished, the group went to Nagarkot, one and half hours drive from Kathmandu, for overnight stay where they would witness an incredible sunrise over the Himalayan range and an acclimatizing walk as part of preparation test to adjust in the high altitude environment of Kailash, Tibet. They will spend their time in Lhasa today and will be on their spiritual quest to the sacred abode of Lord Shiva for next 10 days until they fly back from Lhasa to Kathmandu again.

For this season, all our Holy Mt. Kailash and Mansarovar tours, the ones confirmed till today, are based on flights to Lhasa from Kathmandu and vice versa. As the regular route from Tatopani – Kodari border that we would use for the trip was badly destroyed in the earthquake last year, there are no tours operating at the moment. There are possible talks about reopening the regular route and opening a new route from Kerung border north of Kathmandu. If those borders come into operation, the overland trips to Kailash will be possible from July onward.

We have few pilgrimage tour groups moving to Mt. Kailash for this season and our experienced and expert crew members are all set to take them on the holy spiritual journey of their life time, with care and love.

Should you wish to join in one of our pilgrimage trips to Kailash, please do write to us and we will be more than happy to take you on the spiritual quest.

We have similar spiritual trips to Nepal as well. A trip to Muktinath  – Muktidham can be spiritually uplifting where one suppose to get Mokshya and trip to Upper Mustang can be equally fascinating for spiritual enthusiasts. These trips have awesome views of the rugged mountain landscape and the Himalayan range.
