Four Great Buddies Go on Upper Mustang Adventure

Four great friends from New Zealand are currently on an adventure trekking to Upper Mustang in Nepal and Earthbound Expeditions is taking them on this incredible journey – known as the Lost Tibetan Kingdom. Whilst all of them were in New Zealand, they have hiked beautiful mountains together and spent great time talking about their adventure tastes and planning about next adventures. They have come together again after four years for an incredible adventure of trekking to the spectacular landscape of Upper Mustang region in Nepal.

Earthbound Expeditions is a leading  trekking company that have been organising Mustang trek in Nepal since 1999. This year we already have 3 trips to Mustang including one at the Tiji Festival in May.
John and the team are already here in Nepal and started the trip with a cultural tour of heritage monuments in Kathmandu valley. They went for the sightseeing tour of Swoyambhunath Temple popularly known as monkey temple among tourists, Patan Durbar Square which is a medieval palace square and Pashupatinath to show them the Hindu cremation rituals. The very first day touring experience of Kathmandu gave them a great insight about history, culture, spirituality and many other interesting things about life in Kathmandu.

Nepal is not new for two of them. Tim was here twenty five years back for adventurous Annapurna Circuit Trekking and John was here three years ago for spectacular Annapurna Base Camp Trekking   and they told about their incredible trekking trips in the Himalaya to their friends Scott and Steve. Scott and Steve were keen on taking a trekking adventure experience in the Himalayas so they started hatching a plan to go for one and the idea of Upper Mustang Trekking trip came around them. Eventually they are here and enjoying their adventure – so everything start from thoughts.

The tea house trekking in upper Mustang region will take them to the spectacular landscape of the Himalayas in dry region of Nepal. Their trek starts after flying to Jomsom from Pokhara on an incredibly beautiful but short mountain flight past the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges in the Himalaya. After spending some time in the mountain town of Jomsom, they will start their trek through the incredible mountain landscape to Kagbeni – Chuksang – Samar – Dakmar and Ghami and then to Lo -Manthang. They will spend total twelve days in the high altitude of the Himalayas enjoying and immersing into the culture, atmosphere and life style of the Himalayas of Nepal.

Here are some pictures of what they will see during their adventure trip to Mustang – also known as the last forbidden Kingdom.
