Nepal Celebrates International Yoga Day

 Himalayan country celebrated Yoga Day

The second International Yoga Day has been celebrated today in Nepal by organising different programs by the government and different organisations. The government of Nepal organised a grand program to celebrate the Day of Yoga in Kathmandu. Thousands of people came together in front of Narayanhiti Palace Museum at the heart of the city to celebrate the day since early morning.

In a separate program, Nepal Yoga Association organised a celebration program in coordination with Nepal Tourism Board, Nepal Yoga Retreat where talks about benefits of yoga in human life and blending yoga and tourism in Nepal were discussed. Participants also took part in a short meditation and pranayama session.

As yoga is growing popular worldwide, the United Nations declared 21st June as the International Day of Yoga approved by its convention in 2015. 21st June this year is being celebrated worldwide as the International Day of Yoga.

Nepal as the land of the ancient yogis who dwelled in the Himalayas; practiced their yoga, offers a high spiritual atmosphere where yogis find positive energy that is helpful in deepening the yoga practice. It is believed that Pashupatinath is the winter residence of Adi Yogi Lord Shiva  and he live in Gauri Shanker Himalayan range and Mt. Kailash in summer. At times the scenic wonders of Nepal have been attracting people for years now. If Himalayan scenic beauty is combined with the yogic spirituality, the meaning of the holiday to Nepal goes to the next level where people will find just the wonders of happiness and peace.
