On your first day of your arrival in Kathmandu, we receive you at the airport and drop you off to hotel. In evening we meet for an introductory yoga class with meditation which will be perfectly relaxing after a long and tiring journey to Nepal. Next day after a session of yoga, we head out on a sightseeing tour of Kathmandu valley visiting ancient temples and UNESCO word heritage sites.  On returning to our hotel we have another relaxing session of yoga and meditation in the evening, learning new Asanas , and the relevance of each asana.

After an early morning breakfast we commence our tour to the tiny village of Balthali which will be our base for the next 3 days. The drive to Balthali is short as we leave the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu city and arrive at our yoga retreat. The village of Balthali is surrounded by hills that are used by the local communities to cultivate local products like rice, corn, vegetables etc.

The farm lands are in the form of terrace or step farms that are along the face of the hills. It is a beautiful sight to see the village people preparing their land for harvest with their handmade cone baskets cling on their back. A usual day the yoga retreat would start with a warm couple of tea early in the morning amidst fresh crisp air. Whilst sipping your tea, you will be treated with a breathtaking view of the snow capped Himalayas. After a refreshing tea and enjoying the stunning view of the Himalayas, we spread our yoga mats in the garden that has the view of the Himalayan range. With the chanting of ‘Om’ mantra our yoga teacher commences the class. His patient guidance and instruction will makes all the stiff and difficult yoga posture easy and enjoyable. His knowledge about yoga and the science related to the asana will be making the class interesting and interactive.

After an energizing session of yoga we go head for breakfast as we enjoy the beautiful surrounding. We head out to the wilderness for a 3 hour trek after breakfast. Our guide will takes us through some pristine forest trail where you will be have the chance to see some of the native animals like the deer, money, fox, wild boar etc. The trail is host to many diverse trees, flowers and butterflies which makes hike more pleasurable.

The hiking trail is a mostly a flat terrain with a few uphill gradient which is easy to negotiate. On reaching a view point along the trail we get an outstanding view of the Himalayas. On a return to the retreat, we sit down for a relaxing session of mediation while we witness the sunset. The view of the sun setting behind the majestic Himalayas is absolutely breathtaking.
The following days we continue with a similar schedule, gradually progressing in our yoga lessons by learning new forms of Asanas and in depth knowledge about the science and history of yoga.
