The village of Balthali is surrounded by hills that are used by the local communities to cultivate local products like rice, corn, vegetables etc.
The farm lands are in the form of terrace or step farms that are along the face of the hills. It is a beautiful sight to see the village people preparing their land for harvest with their handmade cone baskets cling on their back. A usual day the yoga retreat would start with a warm couple of tea early in the morning amidst fresh crisp air. Whilst sipping your tea, you will be treated with a breathtaking view of the snow capped Himalayas.
