We found Earthbound Expeditions via searching Tripadvisor for companies that had a trip to Nepal and Bhutan.
We were a little apprehensive booking an expensive tour from a company that we had no face to face dealings with but there were no issues at all and Rajan guided us through everything with immediate email responses to any questions. Then once we arrived in the Thamel Eco Resort hotel in Kathmandu we were greeted by Rajan straight away and he is one of the nicest guys you will ever deal with. He took us through the itinerary for our trip and everything went as expected. If there would have been any issues Rajan is always around the hotel meeting new arrivals and also gave us his card where he is on call 24hr, so you can expect any issues to be dealt with rapidly.
Our trip involved a number of check in/outs of the hotel as we were spending nights away, thus we could leave our main bag at the hotel (part owned by Earthbound Expeditions) and just use overnight bags.
Every time we travelled there was always someone to meet us at the airport. Our tour drivers/guides all spoke good english and were all good company with good local knowledge.
Rajan would also ring ahead to hotels so they have everything in order for us, at all the hotels we had no issues and their locations were great. The standard may be a little below european but not by much. They all had good WiFi that was free.
The tour we did had a great mix of culture and adventure, with enough downtime so it did not feel rushed or overwhelming. We did a private tour so there was always the option to make slight changes based on the local guides recommendation.
Overall I would have no issues with using Earthbound Expeditions again, and are already in contact with Rajan about a tour next year 🙂
Also if anyone is looking for a tour to do I would recommend the Nepal and Bhutan tour, its great.
