Holy Mt. Kailash in Tibet, China is one of the most popular ultimate Hindu pilgrimage sites in the Himalayan region dedicated to Lord Shiva where every devotee wants to go. We have designed 12 days itinerary via west Nepal Nepalgunj – Simikot – Hilsa – Taklakot – Mansarovar – Kailash and back via the same route. Many people think the whole yatra is by helicopter, it is not true.
People have been misleading the Yatries. In this 12 days Kailash Mansarovar pilgrimage all agencies use fixed-wing aircraft from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj and to Simikot and from Simikot – Hilsa ( Nepal – China border) – Simikot helicopter. From Hilsa to Mansarovar and Kailash we use regular Van / Bus to travel. This is the shortest route but we don’t recommend this route highly because the chance of cancellation of the flight is high so the trip may delay or it may add more cost.
We have other popular three itineraries that we offer for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, kindly go through the link below and let us know which itinerary suits your interest.
Kathmandu drive to Kerung / Nylam – Kailash – Kathamndu 13 days overland tour or
Kathmandu – Lhasa flight and drive to Kailash and exit from Kerung / Nyalam – 14 days or
Fly to Lhasa via Chinese city and drive to Kailash and back to Lhasa and fly out 12 days

Mount Kailash, which is believed to have been formed 30 million years ago when the Himalayas were in their early stages of formation, is one of the most revered places in the Himalayas.
Mt. Kailash at 6,740 meters is the high peak, situated to the north of the Himalayan barrier, wholly within Tibet / China far west part of Nepal.
Mansarovar and Mt. Kailash are two of the holiest pilgrimage areas for devotees of Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism, Bonism and many other faiths. Each year thousands of devotees undertake the treacherous and rigorous journey through the mountains and plains of Nepal and China (Tibet) to reach this sacred land.
For the Hindus, Mount Kailash is the earthly manifestation of Mt. Meru, their spiritual center of the universe, described as a fantastic ‘world pillar’ 84,000 miles high, around which all else revolves, its roots is the lowest hell and its summit kisses the heavens. On the top, live their most revered God – Lord Shiva (Paramashiva, Kailashapati and MahaRudra) and his consort Parvati.
For the Jains and the Indian religious group, Kailash is the site where Shiva achieved enlightenment.
For the older, more ancient religion of Bon, it is the site where its founder Shanrab is said to have descended from heaven.
Spread out on the Tibetan plateau beside Mount Kailash is the giant lake of shifting colors – Lake Mansarovar.
A pilgrimage to Mount Kailash and a bath in the Mansarovar is believed to bring about salvation (Moksha) and wash away all the sins of a man, accumulated during his life.
Over the centuries pilgrims have constantly journeyed immense distances to achieve enlightenment or cleanse themselves of sin, braving enormous distances, particularly harsh weather and bandit attacks.
This adventure begins with the drive across the Himalayas in the west into Tibet to Holy Lake Mansarovar. Here you will join the throngs of pilgrims who for centuries, have converged on this remote southwestern corner of Tibet to circumambulate the sacred mountain Kailash, considered to be the center of the universe
Kailash enjoys great popularity by the folk religion of Tibet. It is the soul of the country and assures protection for all Tibetans. The fountainhead of four great Asian rivers, the Indus, Sutlej, Brahmaputra and Karnali and the few mountains surrounding it, reveals Kailash for its mystique isolation and prominence.
