EXCEPTIONAL TRIP FOR GOSAIKUNDA – THE SACRED Lake and origin of Holy RIVER Trishuli
There is a festival at the Full moon every August, people who practice Shamanism goes to the lake at 4312 meters in this region, every year to recharge their energy with the dip in the Lake and Puja of Lord Shiva.

The full moon month of Shrawan (July – August), the day when this festival is observed is considered sacred all over Nepal and is celebrated in different manners by various groups of people. Throughout the Kingdom, the “Dagadhari” (or those who wear the “Janai” or sacred thread on their bodies) change the “Janai” after having a haircut and a ritual bath on the occasion of Janai Purnima, also known as “Rishi Tarpani”. This festival is observed by the Hindus, especially of the Shaiva sect.
Full moon night in the month of August is also popularly known as “Gunhu Punhi” in the Newar community.

According to time-honored tradition, people receive the “Rakshya Bandhan” thread tied around the wrist. The yellow thread is purified by the chanting of Mantras by Brahmins as a symbol of protection from fear and disease. They also observe the occasion as “Kwati Purnima”.

Professional experience
Me and a friend went window shopping in Kathmandu for a nice agency. Earthbound gave a very sharp price for our Langtang valley and Gosainkunda trek. But most of all the boss gave us a good feeling that we were in the right place. We had an amazing experience with Hari as our guide and Gokarni as our very strong porter! Hari was a good guide, one of us got altitude sickness and he took great care of him. Very good and professional experience would definitly recommend!

Best hiking experience in Nepal
I had decided to travel to Nepal in March as I always wanted to do a trek to the Himalayas. However, I wasn't sure about which trek to go on and which company to go with. I was lucky to find the Earthbound expedition through a friend's recommendation and go in touch with Mr Rajan who was very kind to help me find the right trek. I booked the Langtang Gosaikunda trek which was for 12 days. The entire trip was so well organized from the time I was picked at the airport and drop off at my accommodation at Eco Thamel. My guide Gokul was very professional and knowledgeable about the entire region. He was always encouraging and patient with me. But for his sharp eyes, I wouldn't have seen many of the wild life in Langtang national park. In all I had an excellent trip and so happy to have booked my tour with Earthbound. Thank you for your excellent Nepali hospitality.

Langtang - Gosaikunda Trek
We recently visited Nepal for the Langtang Gosaikunda trek in October 2019. The Langtang trek rewards one with great landscape and stunning mountain vistas just after a 3-day hike from the trailhead at Syabrubesi. Dense green forests, beautiful valleys, gushing river, and waterfalls make it an enjoyable trek. The Langtang valley has lovely trails passing through dense rhododendron and pine forests. The mountain landscape and valley view at Kyanjin Gompa are amazingly beautiful. The Gosaikunda region has scenic high altitude lakes that are a treat for the eyes after a steep hike. A wonderful experience overall. Many Many Thanks once again to Rajan at Earthbound Expeditions for everything. As always, excellent support and involvement. Prompt, patient and great service right through. This was our fourth trek with Earthbound Expeditions and that explains it all. Thanks to our guide Narayan who joined us for the third time. Loads of patience, support, and caring attitude was of great help to us throughout the trek. I really appreciate the spirit and resilience of the local people who are rebuilding their lives after the devastating earthquake of 2015. Nepal is a must-visit destination for anyone looking at a vacation or trek. Beautiful landscapes, lovely peaceful villages, and nature at its best. Very warm and friendly people with amazing hospitality. We highly recommend Rajan and Earthbound Expeditions for anyone planning a vacation/trek in Nepal. Best Wishes October 2019

Thank you for your excellent, efficient and courteous service
Dear Rajan, Namaste! Thank you for your excellent, efficient and courteous service in my recent trek to Langtang / Gosinkunda / Helambu in October / November 2005. It was a one-person trek with one guide / porter Kabi. He was very knowledgeable and is to be commanded. In the planning stages by e-mail, you stressed the need of possible flexibility to take into consideration local circumentences weather, illness, etc. This certainly worked well for me and made my experience that much more enjoyable. If any of your prospective client would like to contact me by e-mail regarding a recommendation for your trekking company I would happy to respond. Thank you again ! – Allin Kipp, west Arichat, Nava Scote, Canada
