Travel Insurance for Everest View Luxury Trek

It's highly advised to obtain travel insurance and emergency evacuation coverage. This can protect you financially and provide aid in case of unexpected emergencies like accidents, illness, or natural disasters. Your travel insurance should ideally cover emergency medical expenses, trip cancellations or interruptions, and baggage loss or theft. Likewise, emergency evacuation coverage should include the costs of medical evacuation, possibly by helicopter, in case of severe injury or illness. It's crucial to carefully review your insurance policy to ensure it adequately covers your trek and to understand any terms, conditions, deductibles, or exclusions. Opt for a reliable insurance provider offering a 24-hour emergency hotline, and keep a copy of your insurance policy and emergency contact details handy during the trek.

Road and Transportation while Trekking Everest in Luxury

The road transport inside the Kathmandu valley will be via private vehicle. The roads, for the most part, are smooth. The 20-minute domestic flight to Lukla offers a scenic view of the Himalayas. You'll be walking approximately 4-5 hours daily on a gradually ascending trail, which is well-maintained, making it relatively easier than other trails.

Health & Fitness for Lower Region Everest Luxury Trek

This trek, while less demanding than the conventional Everest Base Camp trek, requires moderate level of physical fitness and mental readiness. The trek reaches a peak altitude of 3,880 meters, so you should be mindful of potential altitude sickness. The itinerary allows adequate time to proper acclimatization, however, it's important to inform as soon as possible, in case of difficulty. You'll be hiking for 7 days for 2-6 hours on a variety of terrains, including steep inclines, rocky paths, and potential snow or ice. Therefore, we recommend you train for the trek with cardiovascular exercises, strength training, and hikes with weighted backpacks. Mental resilience and positivity are also crucial to navigate potential challenges like changing weather and altitude sickness, ensuring a fulfilling trekking experience.

Great service from an experienced company
It can be very difficult to choose between the myriad of trekking companies in Nepal, and some people opt for the "safe" choice of going with a non-local (i.e. Western) company. We were very happy with the choice we made of going with Earthbound Expeditions, keeping it local to add more to the local economy. Rajan (the manager) and Shree (our guide) were very experienced and informative, clearly having excellent knowledge of all the issues regarding trekking in Nepal, as well as having excellent English and being very conscious of safety and low impact on the environment. Above all they were friendly, flexible to our travel needs and very accommodating. We can highly recommend them.

Unforgettable dream trek to Everest Base Camp thanks to Earthbound! Outstanding & highly recommended company for trekking and sightseeing in Nepal! Earthbound run brilliantly by Rajan ji planned and executed our Everest Base Camp to perfection! The awesome service is rendered with a smile at any hour of the day. Starting with the driver Raju ji who meets you like a long lost brother to the peerless mountain guide Shree Ram ji and to the untiring sherpas Sumanth ji and Kumar ji we are in capable and caring hands all thru this journey. We did the 9-day EBC trek and flew back using helicopter from Gorakhshep. We stayed at the luxurious Ramada in Thamel. Easily one of the best hotels with great rooms and sumptuous breakfast with unbelievable variety. Exceptional service by the crew there led by Sanju ji. The pace of the hike was manageable and we rested in beautiful tea houses. They were spacious, clean, well stocked and had great food. Earthbound managed to get us rooms with attached bathrooms for 6 out of 8 nights!! We even got heated electric blankets in Debuche!! Shree Ram ji and Sumanth ji helped us at every step and even got us medicines for cold. The flight to Lukla and helicopter ride back were well organized and comfortable. They even arranged for my wife to fly into Kala Patthar and pick me up from Gorakhshep! We had 4 trekkers in our group. We also had a parallel Nepal tour for my wife and her sister which we will review separately. Even in Kathmandu our Earthbound hosts took us to Pashupati Nath, Swayambhu Nath and Boudh Nath before the trek and to a traditional Nepali dinner and cultural to celebrate our successful EBC trek. I'm indebted to Rajan ji and Earthbound crew for this unforgettable Nepal experience. They are now like family to us. I would highly recommend Earthbound for any Nepal trip or trek. This is my second trip with Earthbound Expeditions. I did Annapurna base camp trek with them last year!

Earthbound excels at the Himalayan experience Book with Earthbound Expeditions today, you'll be glad you did. From the moment I contacted Rajan he was 100% professionalism. Our itinerary was complicated, with friends arriving from all over the world at different times, doing different things, including helicopters and luxury accommodations along the EBC, and Rajan handled all of it perfectly. The highlight of the journey was the hike to Everest Base Camp, which is 100% open for business after the pandemic, and is alive with legendary views from the top of the world. We wish we'd taken more time in Kathmandu, which is vibrant if not chaotic, but has a wealth of things to see and experience. When my travel brings me back to Nepal and the Himalaya, I will definitely work with Rajan and Earthbound again.

Advice for if you're older!
I had a fabulous time. Great guide and porters, lovely group, fabulous scenery, and people. I'm over 50 though and had never been trekking before. Although I did a lot of walking in preparation what really would have helped most would have been daily going up and down your stairs as much as you can possibly bear. Hill and mountain walking would have been good but we don't have them in Norfolk! Also, doing daily is good preparation as you're doing it daily on the trek. Well worth it though.

If you’re going to Nepal, go through Earthbound ... I’ve have hiked Everest Base Camp in 2019 and the Annapurna Circuit trek in 2023 with Earthbound Expeditions and both times they were awesome. They are very adaptable, accommodating, and most of all they make sure you are safely traveling through the mountains. Highly recommend.

12-Day Heli Trek to Everest Base Camp We completed the 12-Day Heli Treck to Everest Base Camp. Earthbound Expeditions made sure we were well prepared for our journey ahead, providing us with the best possible accommodations along the way. Our experience in Kathmandu, learning about the Hindu and Buddhist Cultures was remarkable. The trek to Everest Base Camp was truly about the journey, the relationships we built along the way, not to mention the relief and excitement we felt taking the helicopter back down the mountain. I can't wait to take another trip with Earthbound Expeditions, hopefully making my first ice climb to above 6,000 meters. Thank you to Shree, Abishek, Jaban, and Don for all of your help, expertise, and friendship along the way; I hope to see you again soon!
