For the older, more ancient religion of Bon, it is the site where its founder Shanrab is said to have descended from heaven.

Meals, transport, and equipment required for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra
For the Kailash Mansarovar tour, we will arrange a Tibet travel permit for you. We will provide a duffle bag, down jacket, sleeping bag, Bennie, buff. We will provide everyday hot meals prepared by our trained cook ( south Indian, north Indian and mix of western food). Good caring staff to take care, good bus and supporting truck. We will perform Puja and haven at Mansarovar, we provide hot water from Mansarovar at the bank of Lake Mansarovar for the bath at shower tent before puja and havan and prepare prasad. We will bring the havan samagri as well.
About Kailash and Mansarovar Parikrama ( Kora):
We can drive to Mansarovar by bus. The Parikrama of the Mansarovar we will do by bus( the bus provided by Nagri Kailash tourism Authority) and for Kailash Parikrama ( Kora) we will drive up to Tharboche – Yama Dwar and from there we will walk for 3 days. The total distance we walk while doing circumambulation of Kailash is about a total of 40 KMs in 3 days. 1st day walk up to Dairaphuk is about 14 KMs walk, 2nd day walk via Dolmala pass is about 18 KMS to Zutholphuk and 3rd-day walk is about 8 KMs to the ending point of Parikrama.
For the ones who can’t walk, they can use Horse or come back to Darchen from Yamadwar and wait for others to complete the Kailash kora.

Drive to saga (4350 m) through incredible colorful landscape & stay overnight in Saga.
Today is the auspicious day for all travelers having first glimpse of the Holy Manasarovar and Darshan (view) of Mt. Kailash from The Horr Chu pass. We will make the Lake Parikrama by bus and stay overnight at the shore of Mansarovar.
The experience of being in the abode of God, while we spend a day in Lake Mansarovar it will help us to acclimatize, we can take a bath and preform some Puja/Havan etc. Pack and prepare for 3 days Kailash Khora (PARIKRAMA)
We drive to Darchen & then to Tharboce (Yama Dwar) and trek up to Diraphuk, close up view of Holy Mt. Kailash (North Face). For those people who can’t walk there will be option for Horse or Yak ride at extra cost.
Trek to Zuthulphuk Gompa – 2nd day of Kailash Parikrama - We trek up to Dolma La Pass (5600 m High), offer very short Prayers at the Dolma la and go down towards the Gauri kunda then continue trek to Zuthulphuk Gompa. For those people who can’t walk there will be option for Horse or Yak ride at extra cost.
Our three days Kailash parikarama ends and we drive to Darchen, have a lunch and on the same day drive to Saga.
Drive to Kerung border, finish China and Nepal immigration formalities and drive to Kathmandu by bus, evening hotel in Kathmandu.

Holy Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar
This is the first trip I've ever done with Earthbound Expeditions and I have to say it was a great one. In the style of an expedition, this pilgrimage (yatra) was well planned including the management of itinerary, visas, and management of changes as situations arose. The ground team is knowledgeable and the trek team are just awesome, from the trip leader to the local guides to the porters and right through to the food, being vegetarian can sometimes be difficult on travels, but this is certainly not the case with Earthbound Expeditions. It's a pretty basic trip but is fully packed with amazing delights and sights, it's hard work at times but is definitely worth it. Nepal is safe to travel to and this trip is definitely a fantastic one...go on, give it a go!

I have just returned from a second trip using Earthbound Expeditions and can't wait to return again. This time I joined the Kailash pilgrimage because I was keen to visit the Tibetan landscape and I was not disappointed. In Kathmandu we visited Pashupatinath, Buddha Nilkantha, Boudhanath and Swayambhanth with Resham a very knowledgeable guide. Next day we left for Tibet. With Badri on his 46th trip to Kailash, the whole trip ran smoothly nothing too much trouble and every diet catered for by his amazing staff who joined us in Tibet. In the thin air we were 'encouraged' to eat and drink in order to alleviate altitude sickness, making the trip safe and relaxed in the knowledge we were in good hands. The team including Kedar, Arjun, Maule, Sarki, Narayan, Norbu and drivers and they always had a reassuring smile and nothing was too much trouble for our sometimes demanding group. We had to change part of the pilgrimage trek due to weather (snow) but this was done and alternate plans made calmly without any fuss. There was always someone nearby to give you a helping hand or encouragement on the trek. The Tibetan scenery is breathtaking at times and it's raw beauty made it a truly memorable journey. Back in Kathmandu I chose to stay again with Rajan in his home on the edge of the Raniban forest (See Himanshu Homestay) and was I invited to join in celebrations for an upcoming wedding making the experience unique and enjoyable. Kailash Manasarovar trip via Lhasa
I traveled with Earthbound Expeditions just a couple of weeks ago for my Kailash Manasarovar trip. I was extremely pleased with their service, attention to detail, excellent arrangements, efficiency and excellent guides. There was no hitch anywhere on the trip. The superb guides (Arjun and Kedar) were always the first up and last to bed and they made sure that every individual in our group of 19 cared for.....and they did this with smiles and excellent good humor. They made sure that everyone followed the guidelines to stay healthy and minimize the possibility of altitude sickness. One lady in the group fell sick during the Parikrama/Kora and she was provided prompt and immediate medical attention and she was evacuated to Darchen at her request. I remember one incident very distinctly - Arjun and Kedar walked patiently with two guests who took a substantial amount of time to complete the hike to Zutulphuk on the second (toughest) day of the Parikrama - once the guests were in their room, the guides brought them buckets of hot water to soak their feet! Now, that, in my opinion, is true service and going beyond the call of duty. Rajan and Badri, two of the owners of the outfit were also very responsive to queries and concerns and made every effort to address/remedy concerns and to reassure anyone who was not feeling fully confident. It turns out that several of the people I traveled with did not have a decent day pack. Believe it or not, the guys at Earthbound simply went out and bought twenty high-quality day packs and let the guests use them! This, again, in my experience is and amazing level of service. Needless to say, I am extremely satisfied and would recommend Earthbound expeditions highly to anyone contemplating hikes in the Himalayas.

Trekking in Mt Kailash region
Organization with an Excellent management skills whom you can trust for trekking - prep stage and actual trekking Rajan their main guy is easy to communicate with. Very propmpt in answering all issues/concerns you have with trekking. Also did trekking in lower annapoorna range (Mukhthinath) along with Arjun who is very knowledgable about the region and with his very good PR with local guys he could make the trekking very interesing. An excellent team who attends to all details while trekking and ensure all your requirements are met within available resources. My only complaint missing Everest Base Camp in their planning. Sure going forward they will include EBC in their plan I will definitely recommend this outfit to my friends and relatives. Kailash Manasarovar Yatra
Me and my husband with our friends travelled with Earthbound expeditions last month . This Yatra is considered one of the toughest Yatra. We heard about lots of difficulties faced by our friends in the past with other tour organizations so we were worried and anxious about the whole journey and the difficulties we will face during the whole trip. But Earthbound Expeditions made this entire trip very enjoyable, safe and fun experience. Their guides and other staff (Kedar, Rajanbhai,Arjun,Gokul, Narayan ) were very helping , pleasant and caring. They were prepared for any mishap. Mansarovar & Mt.Kailash Parikrama
I recently completed the 15-day trip. All I can say is the trip and trekking experience were beyond par, thanks to earthbound expeditions. They were simply amazing. From the moment we arrived at the airport in Kathmandu, a team member was waiting to transport us to our hotel. The accommodation the whole way up the mountain and back was great and the food was also great everywhere we stayed and we were able to make menu changes if we need. Our guides Kedar, Arjun and our cook Gopal, were all great and friendly and helpful the entire way. They stayed close to everyone and made sure we were well taken care of physically and mentally Overall the experience we had trekking and horse riding to Mt. Kailash was exceptional from start to finish. I intend to return to go back to Mansarovar with my husband to island peak and I will definitely be doing it through earthbound when I return. If you are considering a trip to Everest base camp use them, I would highly recommend them.

Wonderful Mansarovar Yatra and Kailash Parikrama
We recently completed this tour and trekking expedition in September 2019 with Mr. Rajan Simkhada and his team from Earthbound Expeditions. We were a group of 27 people and I have to say that this team surpassed all our expectations. Looking back, we couldn't have asked for a better tour company for this mentally and physically challenging trekking expedition. Mr. Rajan and his team were very accommodating to individual group member’s needs and went above and beyond to cater to our comfort and convenience. They were flexible, personable and very attentive to the minutest and the biggest details of our travel. A bright smile on their faces and cheerful dispositions kept our spirits high all the time, but especially during the arduous ‘parikrama’ days. Food was amazingly delicious and was cooked fresh daily by Chef Narayan and his helpers. Crew members RAMJI, SHERPA TERKI, and GOKUL made sure that each person ate well and we were all well hydrated. Highlight of the day used to be head and neck massage by ARJUN every evening while checking our Oxygen levels. I am looking forward to doing future trips with Mr. Rajan and his team @ Earthbound Expeditions!! Mr Rajan Sinkhada is such a pious man that we were highly blessed to have him with us throughout our Manasarovar Mount Kailash trip. He was very professional and helpful right from the beginning. He dealt every single detail with so much ease and positive energy. Like many expressed, 5 stars are not enough to describe our experience with Earthbound Expeditions We were a team of 27 from USA and we were 200% taken care of by Mr. Rajan and his awesome crew. Every detail was taken care of from the moment we arrived Lhasa till we left Kathmandu. Entire Rajan's crew including Arjun, Dorjee, Ram, Sargi, Gokul, Narayan and the rest were amazing in taking care of our team, exceptionally. Our kudos to them. Except for Parikrama lunch, we were served clean, hot, delicious meals throughout our trip! It was amazing to see such a positive attitude crew. Manas Sarovar and Mt. Kailash Parikrama with the amazing Rajan Sinkhada’s earthbound expeditions team! We are a group of 27 U.S. nationals, known friends and families with two doctors out of 27, who went on this trip. Rajan’s team lead by himself with his daily prayers in the morning and end of the day briefing in the evening took care of each of us with personalized care. Rajan’s right hand Dorjee handled all the security checkpoints and permit issues so smoothly that we felt like we are in the U.S. Rajan’s customer service team lead by Arjun, took care of each one of us, whether it is monitoring our oxyzen levels daily or offering medical care or providing head messages to get rid of minor headaches or what not. Rajan’s cook Narayanji is so special. His team paid personal attention and offered no onion and garlic food to some and all vegetarian food to others while providing hot food anywhere to our amazement. With limited guidance, he and his team learned some South Indian dishes and offered them as well. Rajan’s customer service team lead by Ramji gave us hot chai to hot breakfast and ensured that we do not carry any bags and retain our depleted oxygen levels to complete a successful trip. Sri. Rajan surrounded us with positive energy and once we met Sri. Rajan that we never had a doubt even once that we may not be able to complete such an amazing Mt. Kailash Parikrama. I personally would not hesitate to use their services again and highly recommend Earthbound Expeditions to any of my friends and family anytime.

We just returned from Manasa Sarovar and Mount Kailash trip to the US. The trip would not have been so successful without the loving care of Rajanji and his (Nine Jewels ) team. Narayanji the chief chef is better than the best. The hot food he server was nothing short of divine. We cannot forget Ram and his magic potion, the little secret of our health. We the team of 27 from the USA were pampered with timely and delicious meals even at 17000 feet, taken care of at every step with health inquiry and of Massage, every evening (for those in need) was an added bonus. They were very knowledgeable of the terrain, and needs for human conditions at that oxygen levels. They are Well known both in Tibet and Nepal helped us with quick resolution to any emergencies- like a landslide. I will not hesitate to recommend them to anyone for their future travel.

Thanks and Rajan and his crew we enjoyed the trip. Perfect team that mixed with us like family and provided service always with a smile and ensured all our needs are met - some times even before we asked. One thing we can say Positively is Rajan’s crew can make your experience memorable. In a day or two they are intimately familiar with all 27 of us spanning from likes dislikes to our health issues and took care of us and did necessary checks even before we asked. Another major plus point is food service. We all thought maybe we gained weight by the end of the trip. They did an excellent job and we used to look forward to food and to briefings and program details. Overall they have a wonderful crew and the fact that we think of them as part of our group rather than service organization reflects how good they are. Thanks to them the only issues we have to deal with are our ability and altitude ???? Dear Mr. Simkhada, We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us realize our lifelong dream of circumambulating Mount Kailash and taking a bath in Lake Manasarover. The 35 days trip that you planned and led for the two of us plus Ms. Lydia Kersbergen, Holland, was beyond our expectations. (May 16 thru June 20, 2004. Las Vegas – Kathmandu – Naylam – Saga – Parang – Manasarovar – Darchen – Mt Kailash – Tharpoche – Tingri – Mt. Everest Base Camp – Lhatse – Shigatse – Gyantse – Lhasa- Kathmandu – Las Vegas) Your team of three Nepalese and three Tibetans worked very well together. In fact, within a few days of the journey, we were all like one big family. Our Toyota Landcruiser driver, Mr. Tsering, is one of the best drivers and mechanics that I have ever met. He made us feel very safe thru all those treacherous mountain passes. Out Tibetan guide, Mr.Tenthar was very helpful and eager to please. His attitude made up for his basic English speaking skills. Our Nepalese cook, Mr. Gambu Sherpa, made such wonderful food throughout the trip that we were afraid of gaining weight! Thanks to Mr. Gambu, we had three real fresh baked cakes to celebrate our anniversary, my birthday and our farewell. We also want to thank you for taking time off from your busy schedule and personally accompanying us throughout the journey and helping us with the three-day trek around Mt. Kailash. I don’t think we would have been able to complete the three-day trek by own feet at our age without your constant guidance and help We will definitely visit Nepal and Tibet again. We hope to do next year the lodge-to-lodge trekking in Nepal. Once again, thank you for the successful planning and leading of our once-in-a-life spiritual journey and trekking adventure. P.S. I had many interesting encounters
Dear Rajan and other staffs in Earthbound Expedition, Namaste! This is Megha. I came back to my home on 11th safely. After that, I visited my parents’ home and I stayed in their house more than one week. I could not send e-mail till now, because my parents do not have a computer in their house. The journey to Mt. Kailash and Lhasa tour was so great. And I had many interesting encounters while my staying in Nepal. My travel this time was fruitful. On the day I left Nepal, the car came to pick me up at my hotel just on time. Thank you very much for everything you took care of me. My flight to Japan was good. In Japan, the rainy season finished a few days after my coming back to Japan, and it is so hot every day now. The highest temperature of the day is about 34 – 36 in my city. How is it in Kathmandu now? Does the rainy season in Kathmandu continue till August? Please be careful of your health. I really hope to see you again. Namaste!

Devotion in Service and Support : Mansarovar and Kailash Trip
Words are very limited to express our gratitude for the excellent service and support we got throughout our Manasarovar and Kailash trip . Trip showed us personally many facets of devotion in service and support, sustainability and spirituality in Rajanji and his team. Without the dedicated service of taking care of our comforts, physical trekking and spiritual pilgrimage of Manasarovar and Kailash would have been impossible. Our every day trip started and ended with Rajanji’s beautiful chants and his melodious “Om Mani Padme Hum” Buddhist prayer. Rajanji and his crew of Arjun bhayya, Ram bhayya, Dorji, Narayan, Gokul, Serge, Amrit and rest of them took care all the days serving us most delicious(fresh and hot cooked food almost all the time of the tour with comfort foods like pongal, bhel puri, pav bhaji, chutneys, fresh yogurt, ghee, yummy chai and more …), satvik Indian/Nepalese food! Very simple gestures of reminding us to be hydrated, checking our health (oxygen levels, medical needs…)every day , getting head and shoulder massages for most of us are on everyday basis made us all a family during this trip. We felt the Parikrama started from day one with so much of divinity in Rajanji’s team towards our group of 27 friends. We truly felt blessed everyday of our trip. Physical challenges of the high altitude, cold weather, long walks and not to forget nature calls during the week of Parikrama was possible for us due to Earthbound expedition team dedication. Rajanji was always open for special requests (thank you for satisfying our sweet tooth at a whim’s notice) or accommodations changes.
